    Pick your piece

    Every item is inspected and any issue is disclosed on its page, so there are no surprises. Not sure? Ask us about it before you buy.

  2. Step 2

    Pay, or make an offer

    Pay up front through our secure checkout, or tell us what you'd pay. We reply quickly with an acceptance or a counter.

  3. Step 3

    Collect within 10 days

    Pick up from our warehouse in Arlington, VA. We hold your item free for 10 days; after that storage is $2 a day for small items and $10 a day for large. Need longer? Message us and we'll work with you.

  4. Step 4

    7-day returns

    Return anything within 7 days in the condition you received it. Local delivery and shipping are coming; delivery fees are non-refundable once arranged.

About The Loft

Giving good things a second life.

We're Gretchen and Michael, the founders of The Loft. We've always seen the beauty in objects and admired the craftsmanship of earlier eras.

Neither of us is formally trained in design. The store is simply a reflection of our obsession with collecting things and giving them a second chance. Our style runs classic, industrial, historic and monumental.

Every pre-owned object purchased means one less new one produced. Will that save the planet? No. But it's a start, and buying one of our pieces is a small step toward reducing the footprint of homewares manufacturing. We love reuse, keeping stories alive, and making buying pre-owned easy and fun.

The Loft is run by EcoFurn Solutions, the free pickup service for furniture and household items across Northern Virginia, D.C. and Maryland. Everything here came from an EcoFurn pickup or consignment. Have something to let go of? EcoFurn will collect it.

Before you buy.

Can I see an item before I buy?
Our first showroom is in the works. For now you can inspect the item at your scheduled pickup, and everything we find during inspection is disclosed on the product page. You also have 7 days to return it.
How long do I have to collect my item?
We hold it free for 10 days after purchase. After that, storage is $2 per day for small items (under 20 cubic feet) or $10 per day for larger ones, payable before pickup. After 30 days uncollected, The Loft may take possession and donate the item without a refund. Need more time? Message us when you buy and we'll work something out.
What's the return policy?
Every item has a 7-day return policy. Items are sold as-is after inspection and disclosure, but if something turns out to have undisclosed damage (large appliances we can't hook up during inspection, for example), that 7-day window covers you. Email us with your order number to start a return.
Do you buy items?
No. Everything for sale was collected and restored, or taken on consignment, by our parent company EcoFurn. If you have something to let go of, EcoFurn picks it up for free.
Can you tell me when a specific item comes in?
Yes. New items arrive daily. Describe what you're looking for in the wishlist form and we'll notify you when something matches.
